Happy Halloween!

It seems somehow fitting that our last day of volunteering is Halloween. We wore our orange shirts with the ghosts/aliens on them to our kitchen duty this morning, but of course the aprons pretty much covered up the aliens!

This afternoon Brad came over and helped us take our headboard off the wall. He located the screws that had evaded my search, hiding deep under some cording. The next step will be to find some fabric we like to recover the headboard and a bedspread or comforter set to match. I really liked the one that Jacalyn had. She also brought over their sofa mate table so I could take a photo of it. We'd like to find something very similar to fit between our recliners.

On our walks around the park, we've followed the same routes many times, but we still see new and different things. Here are some interesting bird houses:

On our walk tonight, we saw a new looking Excel 36GKM. The door was open and two friendly schnauzers were outside, so I walked over to comment that we were fellow Excel owners. The couple warmly invited us in, and we talked for over half an hour. They started fulltiming less than a year ago. We've noticed that we are running into more and more folks who are newer at this fulltiming game than we are. The rig was beautiful, roomy, and luxurious--not surprising since it's a Limited and actually 38 feet long.

I talked with Carol today. She mentioned that Sharon Toups and a couple of her kids had spent the night last weekend. They had driven to Alto for a Franciscan event and then to Tyler to visit with Faye Nell. When it came time to start home, Tyler had a major storm, and Sharon decided to take Carol up on her offer of a crash pad.

She also mentioned that she had had a bout of dizziness that lasted three hours. Coincidentally, her sister Gail has been suffering from labyrinthitis for 12 weeks now, and their sister Linda has also been having problems. It seems very odd that the three sisters, who are far apart geographically and in age, should all have similar problems.

I talked to Terri. She said the family reunion next year has been shifted from Cincinnati to Texas. It will be over 4th of July, when we plan to be in Michigan at Gordon's place.

I talked with Ed too. He said that they had taken the kids to the pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago, and the shoes he had worn were still dusty from that event.
