We spent most of today shopping, which is very wearing after the first few stores. We set out mainly to look for area rugs, but we also wanted to visit a Container Store and get some groceries. We ended up visiting four rug stores, the Container Store, Crate and Barrel, Sprouts, Tuesday Morning, and Walmart. Along the way, we checked out Austin's Furniture Depot, which advertises "new, used, and weird" furniture. They certainly had some weird metal sculptures and miscellany out front. This would be a good place to go if you want to furnish a condo or house in a unique style.
Speaking of unique styles, here's a Hummer we spotted near Crate and Barrel.
We did come home with a few things, but no rug. We've decided to wait until we have our new coach before trying to find a rug for under the table.
Tonight we watched the second part of the American Experience show on Clinton's presidency. Robert Reich, whose book about his experiences in that administration Ken read recently, was one of the commentators. Although we lived through the whole eight years, it was enlightening to see all the events, people, and decisions that played a part in the Clinton presidency.
