Talkin' Travel

This evening we met Ray and Linda Bassett at the Olive Garden on Happy Valley, on the north side of Phoenix. We were delighted to hear from them a few days ago. They're planning on becoming full time RVers when they retire, hopefully soon, and they're especially interested in New Horizons. Those interests are what led them to start reading our blog. When they saw we were in the Phoenix area, where they live, they invited us to join them for dinner some night.

We love to meet new people and to talk about our lifestyle and New Horizons, so this sounded like a great idea to us. We had a good dinner and a long and interesting conversation. We were frank in sharing the challenges and the joys of living and traveling in our Majestic, and we're looking forward to hearing from them in the future, since we're sure they'll be having lots of adventures.

Linda had an additional interest she wanted to talk with Ken about, photography. So it's a bit ironic that we totally neglected to take any photos of them. So we are instead copying a photo of them taken last year at another Italian restaurant where they met with Howard and Linda Payne of RV-Dreams.

We watched our recording of tonight's Jeopardy this evening. We've been following the exploits of Julia Collins, the "winningest female contestant in "Jeopardy!" history." Tonight, after 20 straight wins, she finally lost, but she'll be back in tournament play. She is now second after Ken Jennings in most consecutive wins in regular play. Good going, Julia!
