Miracle on 34th Street

This morning we biked around the state park, looping twice around the perimeter. There are lots fewer mosquitoes, fortunately, especially in daylight hours. Now that we've passed the Winter Solstice, we'll have more daylight hours every day.

We got into the spirit of the season today by watching Miracle on 34th Street again. It was the colorized version, which somehow doesn't have as much nostalgic appeal, but we still enjoyed the upbeat defense of innocence, imagination, faith, and generosity.

Tonight we're watching a bit of the Sound of Music while we wash the dishes, and then Downton Abbey. We're getting rather tired of the DirecTV holiday music--not enough variation, so we hear the same songs over and over again. Some of them bear repeating more than others.

I ran out to the store to pick up some things for Christmas dessert, and of course ended up with lots more. The fridge is stuffed.
