Happy Birthday, Terri!

Today is my wonderful daughter's birthday. Wish she were here so I could make her a cake and celebrate in person, but it was great to have her visit before Christmas.

We decided to sleep in this morning and skip breakfast with our friends. We have a lot to do. Ken ordered some flowers for his sister and got off a card to her. We took some lemons up to the clubhouse to offer for free--but our box joined another one that was already there. We gave John some oranges when he came over to borrow one of our long handled brushes to clean his rig.

On our walk around Green Gate Grove today, we spotted these critters all bundled up, trying to stay warm, like the rest of us.

The winds have gathered strength here today. They get under the slide toppers and really make some noise sometimes.

I finally talked with Terri later today, after playing phone tag for a while (her phone was evidently not ringing). She’ll be going back to Tokyo on January 14, and Molly will be going with her. Molly will take a couple of online courses during spring semester and return to school at Arlington next fall. We got a chatty email from Kelley this evening--always good to hear from her. It sounds like she's doing well, except that she's bored with her job and needs to find a new one.

Downton Abbey Season Four started tonight, with a special two-hour program. Great excitement! We are really hooked.
