Dancing into the New Year

We started the new year off right today by dancing to Jerry Story this afternoon and Joe Saltel this evening. Both dances had four squares plus, and we had a lot of fun. Some of the Canadian couples have arrived. We're glad to see and dance with them again.

After Jerry's dance, we walked around El Valle del Sol, just for a change of scenery. It's okay, but nowhere near as nice as Greengate Grove.

This morning we watched the Rose Parade. What lovely floats! Very impressive, and the commentators were charming. We were especially impressed by the African Safari float and the little green men arriving from outer space! The bands were terrific too.

We've decided to skip the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade from now on. We're disappointed to see that it's turned into a series of ads for New York shows and such. Pasadena certainly looked bright and cheerful with sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.

We watched part of the Rose Bowl too, even though Michigan wasn't in it. It was Stanford against Michigan State.
