Goodbyes

More goodbyes today. We stopped over at Circle T to have coffee with Vern and Mary and wish them safe travels for the summer. They think they'll be back next season, but their plans are pretty fluid.

After a quick stop at Subway for lunch, we headed to Pharr South for our final Randy dance. It was down to three squares exactly. He worked on the right hand rule for wheel and deal and cycle and wheel and called some combinations we hadn't heard before, like square chain thru the axle and square chain the top the axle. He talked some about the similarities and difference between the all four couple concept and the all eight concept. The bottom line is that different callers have different interpretations of some of these things, and as always, it's the dancers' job to do what the caller wants.

I wore the t-shirt that Judy had showed us how to weave and got some positive comments.

This evening was the farewell owners' appreciation dinner at our park, so free food, no cooking, and no dishes--always a winning combination. We met some couples at our table who have seen us out walking. They commented that we walked by so fast they barely had time to wave.

We dropped off the day night shade for my bedside window to be restrung. It took 10 minutes and cost $25. Ken said most of that must have been for "knowing how." I'd like to figure out how to do it ourselves.

Tonight we did our laundry, so I'm starting off fresh to pack for the trip tomorrow.
