We got a bit of cabin fever today, so we decided to make a trip out to see more of Lake ‘O the Pines. We stopped at the Corps of Engineers Project Office to see if they had any maps of hiking trails. The folks there were very friendly and helpful. Although they said they don’t really have any hiking trails, they did offer us some maps of the hunting access roads that the one guy had hand drawn. They also gave us a Texas road map—yay! We really needed a new one.
We checked out the Buckhorn Campground, the next one north on the lake from Brushy Creek. It's a nice campground--but not as nice as Brushy Creek. If we stay in this area again, we'll probably come back to Brushy Creek. On the way back in to our campsite, Ken finally got to see some deer, and they conveniently posed for us.
We had a bit of a scare earlier today when Ken was looking for the 2009 photos--and the ones from August to December seemed to be missing. The mystery was cleared up when he discovered that it was just a file structure problem, so all is now well. We've started culling photos again.
