Happy Pi Day!

March 14 each year is celebrated as "Pi Day"--since 3/14 reminds us of 3.14, the first digits of the famous Pi (the ratio of the circumference of a circle and its diameter). Only real geeks would care.

Although we had lots of clouds in the sky, the sun was out most of the day today. It was quite warm again, but we had some nice breezes. We walked around El Valle del Sol for a while before Jerry's dance. It's an older park, so the plants have had plenty of time to grow. We were especially impressed by the huge cacti, some as large as trees. They seem to be just on the verge of blooming.

We had six squares at Jerry's, but only three at Joe's tonight. The reason was that lots of dancers went to the Cirque du Soleil performance of Dralion tonight.

Next week will be the last week for our Wednesday dances for this season. Jerry and Joe have a Caribbean square dance cruise sailing from Galveston the last week of March. We'll head north the end of March, so our stay in the Valley is coming to an end shortly.

Terri called this evening. She was remembering the cold weather we had for my visit last year at this time. This year the cherry blossoms festival will definitely be warmer! Terri had to go get four immunizations today in preparation for their move to Tokyo. Nothing exotic: actually, since she didn't have records of her childhood illnesses and immunizations, she had to get varicella, polio, MMR, and DPT shots. Oh well, probably can't hurt. Later they will all have to get Japanese encephalitis shots. They are still waiting for medical clearance for their transfer to Japan.

Our water pressure has been very low today. Tomorrow we'll have more time to check it out and hope we can figure out what is wrong. Meanwhile we put water in the fresh water tank and are using the water pump.

I sent a message to Phil today about the placement of our solar panels on the roof of our new Majestic. After some back and forth, we decided to abandon our plan to move our solar panels, because they are too big. Although the new coach is longer, it also has more stuff on the roof (two air conditioners, three Maxx Fans, a large skylight over the shower, etc.). AM Solar now has some smaller, lighter panels that are still rated at 100 watts each, so we've decided to go with those.
