Family Day

We had a wonderful day visiting, playing games, exclaiming over how cute Aria is, eating delicious food--and just being together, being family. Jeff and Todd joined us today to make the circle complete.

I taught the group how to play Ingenious! They didn't need much teaching. Her first game, Stephanie won by Ingeniousing every color. The rules of the game refer to this as a "rare event," but Todd did the same, and Jeff came close.

Aria is teething, but still managed to charm everyone.

We shared a delicious dinner, all gathered around the dining room table. Sophie and Gryphon had empanadas while the rest of us had barbecued beef sandwiches.

After dinner and ice cream and cherries, we all played Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit. Fortunately, we played in teams. Sophie and Gryphon both displayed an awesome command of LOTR trivia. Bill and Sophie and Kathy were very lucky with the dice an managed to collect all the wedges in quick order. Even though the other two teams joined forces, Team Bill triumphed, answering the DVD question for the win.

On the way over to Strongsville, we stopped at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, which happened to be directly on our route. We don't often have a chance to shop at a natural foods store.

When we got near Kathy's, we stopped at Giant Eagle to pick up ice cream for dessert. We got Ruggles Moose Tracks--which turned out to be a real favorite.
