Welding and Back to Paint

Corey came in first thing when we were up. He removed a spot of adhesive from one of the mirrored closet doors and did some other touch ups. Jeffrey came by and adjusted one of the pantry drawers.

Then we closed up and our coach was off to the welding shop to have its skid rollers extended downwards to help protect the skirting from bottoming out. While it was there, the welding shop also fabricated a lift/extension for the bike rack, to keep the bikes from dragging and bottoming out.

The front cap had an error in the paint scheme, so next we were back in the paint booth. At that point, we headed out to do our laundry at Laundry Land, a large, very clean laundromat recommended by Debbie and Danielle. It had an attendant who did wash and fold for people, and it had a pool table, to help while away the time waiting for the machines to finish.

When we got back to New Horizons, the coach was still in the paint booth, so we went to Subway for lunch. On the way home we stopped at a liquor store to buy some red wine. In Kansas, anything stronger than 3.2% beer is only available from a liquor store.

When we got back to the factory again, it was quitting time. Our paint job was done, although still taped. Our new skid wheels definitely look like they'll do the job, but we'll see. We walked out the country road we like (Old US 40) and saw some spectacular irises.

After dinner we walked around the still undeveloped area of the housing complex to the north and west. As we walked past, a bunny froze in place, but then it kind of turned to check out whether we were being fooled by its attempts to be "invisible."
Tomorrow there's more to be done, including replacing the thermostat, checking out the tank level monitors, replacing the IR repeater with one that works (we hope), and more. We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
