Happy Birthday, Ken!

Today is Ken's birthday. Jeff and Tiffinie celebrated by taking us to the Lindo Michoacan in Henderson, just south of Vegas. The views are spectacular, and the food was very good too. The restaurant sits on a bluff overlooking the valley, so we could see the lights of Vegas laid out before us.

The wait staff serenaded Ken in Spanish and tossed a shot of tequila in his mouth. They presented him with these churros with a candle and invited him to make a wish. He shared the churros.

This morning we did our laundry, with the usual walks around the park while the washers and dryers did their thing.

We also worked on going through our paperwork and registering warranties. This takes longer than you would think, since it involves finding model numbers and serial numbers--and sometimes figuring out which product goes with which warranty card! Ken spent a lot of time and energy getting the cover off the big fluorescent ceiling light. Only one of the four tubes was lit. Four of the six screws holding it in place were stripped out and had to be extracted, not an easy job when you're working overhead on a high ceiling. After the cover was removed, Ken was able to get the other three tubes to light, even though two of them have dark rings at one end. All three were loose. Ken says they appear to be generally insecure, so we figure that we'll have to find some way to stabilize them. Jeff suggested dielectric grease on the connections.
