Happy Mother's Day

We had an enjoyable day today with Jeff and Tiffinie. Tiff drove us to Lake Las Vegas in her Scion. We walked around and checked out the little shops. Then we stopped in at Auld Dubliner Irish Pub for a drink and snack.

When we got backto the house, the pot roast that Jeff was cooking in his new crock pot was not quite done to his satisfaction, so we played cards for a while. We taught them how to play "Play Nine," also called Golf.

The pot roast turned out very tender and delicious. It was only the third that Jeff has ever fixed, and he is honing his technique. He bought a new crock pot so he'd have one large enough to hold the roast.

I received calls from Chris and Uncle Jesse and Edward and Annie and Terri wishing me a happy Mother's Day. It was good to hear from all of them. When Ed called, Cate and Sam talked with me too.

Ed reported that Sam is suspected to be allergic to dairy products now. He breaks out in a rash.

The heat during the day is definitely overwhelming, with a high of 100 degrees today. We saved some of our walking for after dark, when it's at least bearable.
