You may recall that our lemon tree has been extremely prolific this year. We've been taking lemons to dances, trying to palm them off on unsuspecting dancers. It turns out they make great lemonade, according to Jean (the secret is to dissolve the sweetener in boiling water before adding lemon juice). Jean sent us a delicious sounding recipe for chicken breasts with lemon and garlic.
But the ultimate proof of the value of lemons is that you can use them to make lemon meringue pie. That's what Sue Schaffer did, and we know that the pie was absolutely delicious because she and Arnie invited us over after the dance tonight to have some. They also showed us around their home in Aladdin Villas, which they just purchased last season. It's the perfect size and even came with a treadmill in the garage.
We danced to Jerry Story this afternoon. Jan and Steve were there, and we actually had a chance to dance with them. We had fifteen couples, an awkward number, so three couples were sitting out each tip. At Joe's tonight the number was thirteen, so at least only one couple sat out each tip. I guess quite a few people are traveling or busy with the holidays.
Steve came over this morning with his circular saw to cut back the shelf over the washer and dryer. It was too deep, leading to collisions between our heads the the front edge of the shelf. Thanks again to Steve and Jan for all their help with the Texas room.
