My lovely daughter in law says being 36 is okay!
We went to breakfast at Mi Challitas with friends as usual this morning. George joined us--always a pleasure with his warm smile. He's trying to graduate to a cane but still using a walker mostly after extensive back surgery this past summer. The Spauldings weren't there, because this was their day to go fishing with daughter Cheryl and her husband Curt.
After breakfast, Judy, Jean, and we drove down to the state park and walked in to the Hawk Tower and back out, just over three miles and an hour of walking. It was a lovely day for a walk in the park. It started off foggy and overcast, but by the time we entered the park the sun was burning through the fog. It was not too warm, not too cold, but a Goldilocks kind of day: just right. Ken was wearing the big camera on the bino harness. That worked well for him--except for the fact that he didn't actually take any photos.
Afterwards we came home and went to work doing more prep on the Texas room. We've pretty much decided to hire someone to do the painting itself, but we'll finish the prep. It's taking lots of sanding and cleaning, which involves reaching up. That always takes it out of me, and even Ken was feeling lightheaded. Tomorrow we'll go over to the office to see if we can get contact information for a person known as "the Handyman," who has been recommended to us as a painter.
We had another delicious turkey dinner today. Aren't leftovers wonderful? I baked a pumpkin pie for dessert. Now my Thanksgiving is complete. And Terri called from Japan to wish us a happy Thanksgiving. She's leaving tomorrow to fly to Texas. She and Molly will arrive here in two weeks for a visit. Can't wait! Well, actually, we can wait--we've got so much to do to get ready for visitors.
