On to Lake Corpus Christi

We started the day with a walk in a Texas state park, McKinney Falls State Park, and we ended our day with a walk in another state park, Lake Corpus Christi State Park.

We've been here once before, on our first trip to the Rio Grande Valley in 2008, but that was in our 32' Excel. We were glad to find that there are several full hookup sites that we can still fit in with reasonable ease, even with our 38' Majestic. We're in site #41. We've seen several deer as well as birds and squirrels

Today is our friend Hardy's birthday and my cousin Beth's birthday. Enjoy!

We watched a NOVA program about the design and creation of Mars rover Curiosity, which landed safely on Mars last November. Awesome.

We also watched a recorded Frontline program about groups dedicated to helping people commit suicide. It's legal in Oregon and Washington for doctors to provide assistance for the terminally ill who request it. In other states, these groups work to give people information about how to commit suicide effectively and with a minimum of pain. The program explores the controversy around the issue of assisted suicide.
