This and That

We slept in this morning and didn't get up until 9:00 a.m. That definitely eats a hole in your day. On our walk this morning we headed over to the state park, where workers are continuing construction. We're not exactly sure what they're doing, but today at least several people appeared to be working. (Often it seems that most of the folks must be supervisors or something....)

Approaching from the north. Maybe the yellow part is a flood wall?

We painted our hitch today. Once we get it back together, that chore is done for this year anyhow.

This evening we picked up Hardy and Judy to go to the open rehearsal of the Valley Symphony Orchestra performance of A Night at the Movies.  Unfortunately we couldn't find the rehearsal where it was supposed to be, at the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium. Jan and Steve called. They had been looking too and had gone to the Convention Center, where they reported finding nothing also. We ended up all going to the DQ. Steve and Jan and their friends CE and Joannie went fishing yesterday and again today. The guys caught lots of fish. CE and Joannie are in town until Tuesday. We're trying to convince them to move down here.

Ken's new Kindle arrived today as promised. He said it was very easy to transfer all his books from the old one.

I talked to Terri tonight. They are without electric, wearing two or three layers of clothing, and huddling under blankets. Blake built a fire in the fireplace too.
