Sunshine

We enjoyed the sunshine and mild weather today, but we know that the cold front that is freezing our northern family and friends will dip down even into south Texas. Thursday's wind chill values are forecast to be as low as 29, and the ten day forecast includes lots of cold, cloudy, rainy days.

This morning we went to Randy's C-2 workshop. He found plenty for us to work on, including some difficult once removed calls, like square chain the top. He also worked on some parallelogram calls. Some of it made sense to me, but on some I was just glad that he was cuing us.

Tonight we finished watching a PBS American Experience documentary on Freedom Summer. Civil rights volunteers came from all over to work in Mississippi on literacy programs and voter registration. The violence and hatred of many white southerners was really frightening even in retrospect. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the volunteers and the black Mississippians who confronted the oppression and segregation of their society.
