Life Itself

That's the title of the movie we went to see at the Hollywood Theater this evening. It's also the stuff of day to day, getting up, going to work, loving, living, dying. Roger Ebert embraced it all with wit and good humor. At the end of the film, the audience felt the loss of his death through the eyes and with the heart of his beloved wife, Chaz. As brutally honest and poignant a film as I've seen in a long time.

This morning Anara and I walked to the OHSU Richmond Clinic for her doctor visit. She's had a troubling cough for the last two weeks. Fortunately the PA said that her lungs sound fine and sent her home with a new asthma inhaler (just in case) and some generic Claritin.

We stopped on the way home at Fred Meyer for a couple of things we needed for dinner. We made Cincinnati style chili and spaghetti. We had chopped onion, shredded cheddar, and red kidney beans, the ingredients needed for a two-way, three-way, four-way, and five-way. Of course we also had a nice big green salad. Unfortunately, the broccoletti was burned. I'm used to steaming broccoli in the microwave. Trying to keep track of everything including the broccoli pan on the stove was a bit too much for me to juggle. I'll try to ask someone else to keep track next time 8-)
