Ole! Ole!

Today was our day to visit Mexico with Terri and Molly. On the way we stopped at Don Wes Flea Market. I wanted to pick up some produce, and it's always interesting to browse a giant market. Terri and Molly did a lot of looking, but didn't buy anything because they'd have to carry it on the airplane when they return to Dallas. We're always aware of our space limitations, so we mostly look also, but Ken did find a warm crocheted hat.

That will come in handy when we go to Hidalgo tomorrow evening for the Festival of Lights. The weather today was pleasant in the sun, but definitely chilly in the evening, and tomorrow will be the same.

We left the flea market in mid afternoon and headed to Mexico for a late lunch at the Red Snapper.

Border crossing

Visiting Nuevo Progreso

We drove into Green Gate Grove just in time to see the Christmas parade of golf carts. All the entrants were enthusiastic and friendly, but oddly enough, some of the carts had no lights. The parade was after dark. Hmmm. A couple of our neighbors were in the parade and greeted us warmly on the way past.

This evening we watched Christmas special we had recorded for just this occasion: Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It was cute, but I guess I hadn't noticed in the past how sexist it is. Such indoctrination of little kids is a bit shocking.
