More Painting

Luis was here for long hours today again. The darker color has two coats now, and the lighter color has one coat. The ceiling is done. We can see that it is being transformed and will look very nice. However, it isn't coming out the way we envisioned it--entirely our fault. The darker color and the lighter color are more similar than we anticipated, so the contrast is not as striking as we had hoped. Besides, the colors are much bluer than we expected. We figure that once the painting is done and the furniture back in place and things up on the walls, we'll be very happy with how much nicer it looks than it looked before.

We went to two different thrift stores today looking for a replacement for the power cord for the television in the Texas room. No luck, so tomorrow we'll check with Radio Shack. We did find a boom box at Big Lots that we needed for the Christmas child we signed up to buy a gift for, a thirteen-year-old boy who asked for a boom box. We hope he likes it.

Somehow we managed not to walk today. It's quite cold outside, so we planned to walk at Lowe's, but we never made it there. It doesn't happen often that we miss our exercise, and we'll try to make up for it tomorrow.

We have a kitty that is trying hard to adopt us. It's been hanging around outside our door begging for the last couple of days. I called one rescue organization, but they didn't call back. I talked with another person we know who works with pet rescue. She said that the only local group that will take cats is in Edinburg, and they won't take animals from people who have Mission addresses on their driver licenses. That's because Mission has its own animal control, but Christine says it's a hell hole.
