Weekend

Most of the time, we tell ourselves that weekends are just like any other day, now that we're retired. But RV parks definitely experience an influx of new people over the weekend, and often more activities. This morning we walked around the park checking out everyone's offerings in the park-wide garage sale. We actually found something we had recently said we needed to buy: a set of three emergency triangles. We hope we won't ever have to use them, but it's good to know we have them just in case.

We picked up a few other things too, off course, like a DVD of Matchstick Men. (Nicolas Cage's starring role grabbed our attention.) I got a nice mesh shopping bag, too.

This evening we went over to the clubhouse for the DJ dance. Not that we danced much, but it was still enjoyable to watch some really good dancers and chat with new friends.

For breakfast this morning I made banana quinoa pudding. Ken said it was rather like tapioca pudding. We enjoyed it, and the best part is that it's high protein and high fiber. This afternoon I made a loaf of zucchini bread with some of the zucchini we bought in Union City yesterday.

Tomorrow we'll head to Kalamazoo for a concert in the park. The last time we attended one of these concerts, Sweetie was with us. I'll miss her.
