Turkey Day

Today was "Thanksgiving" at the resort. Of course that means turkey dinner. The resort supplied the turkeys--choice of deep fried or smoked--and the rest of the bountiful spread was potluck. We were asked to bring "a dish to pass"--which I guess might be a Midwesternism for "a dish to share."

As usual, there was a great variety of food, tempting us to try to take a taste of everything. The deep fried turkey didn't appeal to us much, but the smoked turkey was pretty good. One dish I haven't seen for a while was a delicious corn pudding. We enjoyed the food and the company.

We have been trying to make plans for an Alaska cruise next July, for which some of our kids might join us. We've never been on a cruise, so we are pretty much "at sea." We have settled on a Norwegian Pearl seven day cruise departing Seattle July 8, but we have no idea how to go about choosing a cabin type or location or finding out what the true cost will be or choosing shore excursions. Ideas are welcome.

Today's exercise class was an aerobics session led by Sarah. We don't actually have the steps usually used for step aerobics, so she creatively provided imaginary steps by putting strips of duct tape on the carpet. They were just the right height for me! We did some abs work too and some weights. Tonight I suggested heading for a soak in the hot tub to soothe my sore muscles.
