On to Brushy Creek

We had a reasonably short trip today, along a route we’ve traveled before, so not too stressful. We’re camped in the same site we had the first time we stayed at Brushy Creek (site #110). It’s shaded and spacious. We enjoyed our walk around the campground, checking out the neighbors. It’s not crowded on a Monday in May.

Tonight we played some Boggle and relaxed.

The Droid GPS decided to work again during our walk tonight—who knows why? It’s confusing and frustrating when the operation is so erratic. We’re also in the boonies, so our connections are very slow, but it’s peaceful here, so we’re hoping to spend time relaxing.

I made Carol’s brown bread recipe for supper tonight, to go with the butternut squash soup. Later we had blackberry topping on angel food cake—reminded me of the blackberry cobbler Mom used to make when Joe and I picked wild blackberries. Ken was highly positive about all the food. We watched a Nature episode about a catastrophic wildfire in southern Australia and its impact on the plants and animals of the region. The wombats and koalas and echidnas being nursed back to health were very cute.
