Wyoming, Again

This morning we left the Black Hills and headed south. We stopped for lunch at a picnic area/historical site just outside of Lusk, WY.

Our travels were mainly through prairie, but we could see the Laramie Mountains to the west. We saw lots of motorcycles, toy haulers, and RVs towing trailers--all likely heading to Sturgis, SD, for the big motorcycle rally, now in its 70th year.

Our stopping point tonight is Wheatland, WY. It is located next to Grayrocks Reservoir State WMA, but we are camped at Lewis Park, a very nice city park.

We walked around the park this evening and watched all the activity: kids playing, people walking, a Tai Chi class. Many of our neighbors are bound for Sturgis, as evidenced by the motorcycles and toy haulers.

I talked with Aunt Iris tonight. She and Beth are doing fine, but not eating together anymore. Iris says Beth has decided she doesn't want to eat meat, which Iris figures is a necessity of life. Billy Caton has fallen and wrenched his shoulder badly. Otherwise folks in North Carolina are doing well.

Tomorrow we'll move on to Westminster, CO (a suburb of Denver) where we'll stay at the Elks Lodge for a few days so we can do our laundry and some shopping.
