On to Aztec, NM

We left Horsethief Campground this morning and drove to Archview Resort (at the intersection of 313 and 491)to use their dump station. None of the BLM campgrounds in the Moab area has water or dump stations, so we were glad to find a dump station nearby that was easy to access and only $5. Then we headed south. We were in three states today. We started in Utah, cut through a corner of southwest Colorado, and ended up in Aztec, NM.

The drive was not a particularly easy one, with lots of steep climbs and down grades, but we made it to our destination, Ruins Road RV Park in Aztec, NM.

The park is near the Animas River and has a trail along the river.

It is also very close to the Aztec Ruins National Monument. We walked along the river and over to the monument, but it was closed. We'll visit in the morning before leaving town.
