Just down the road from our campsite is the Alcantara Winery. Surprised us when we saw the sign--we didn't know that Arizona had wineries. The owner explained that the grapes grown here are ones also grown in Mesopotamia, so they are desert acclimated. Alcantara also has vineyards in Paso Robles in California. We enjoyed the tasting. It would have been even nicer if we could have sat outside, but it was too windy for that to be appealing.
We also explored the rest of Thousand Trails Road, which ends at the large Thousand Trails RV Resort. Along the way we found another boondocking area, with only one motorhome parked in it. We had seen the motorhome across the valley from our area and wondered where it was.
This morning we went into Cottonwood to do our laundry. We found a clean laundromat with new front loading Maytags and got all our things cleaned up. We also picked up some groceries.
Check out this sign--a first for us!
Tomorrow we have a hike planned as well as a visit to some ruins.
