Work is continuing on patching and resealing the roads in the park and the pull-thrus. When we walk, we have to watch out for the soft tar on the roads, and we're treated to the aroma of hot asphalt. The upside is that the roads and pull-thrus will not only be smoother but also definitely look better once the work is done.
Not much happening here today. We did some trip planning. We'll be spending a couple of weeks in the Texas Hill Country after the New Horizons Owners Group Rally in Kerrville. We've decided to stay first at an Escapees park in Hondo called Lone Star Corral. From there we'll be able to visit the Hill Country State Natural Area and other attractions in the area.
Then we'll move to Canyon Lake. I camped there once with Chris, years ago. It was a much different experience. We were camping in pup tents, and I think I remember listening to an audiobook of The Cardinal in the Kremlin (or some such) in the evenings around the campfire. We're hoping to visit the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, which includes the ranch and the "Texas White House."
Tonight we watched one of the movies we had recorded earlier, The Kids Are All Right. It was billed as a comedy/drama. We found it rather light on the comedy, and the drama was somewhat unsettling.
