Congratulations, Molly!

My granddaughter Molly graduated today from the American School in Japan. Kelley flew over to help her celebrate. We are all so proud of her.

We slept in until 8:00 this morning and actually got to eat breakfast at our dining table, quite a luxury after having to get up early and take our breakfast over to the customer lounge so that the guys could start work by 7:00 a.m. We decided to go to Lake Shawnee Campground just outside of Topeka to kick back for a couple of days. We stayed here a couple of days last year on our way back from Sedalia to Junction City after the Escapade.

Our high spirits at leaving Camp Horizons with all our warranty repairs done were dampened today. We had been on the highway only a few minutes when our tire pressure monitor warned us that we had a low tire on the trailer. Instead of 120 psi, it was reading 92 psi. We stopped at a rest area and added some air, but it continued to drop, so we know it has a slow leak.

Meanwhile, our DirecLink brake controller started beeping at us too. We got an error message saying the sensor on the passenger rear wheel was dead. Oh, no. That's the wheel the brakes were replaced on. We tried to call Tuson, but they did not answer their phone (it's Saturday), so we called and left a voicemail for Alan, a Tuson consultant who has been very helpful to us in the past. He called back pretty soon. We were stopped at the next rest area, so we were able to go through a series of steps to turn off the ABS system and turn off the sensors so that we wouldn't continue to get the error messages (very annoying beeps).

Fortunately, we still have perfectly adequate disc braking--just no ABS. Alan thinks it's likely that the sensor just needs adjustment, but we'll have to find someone to do that, preferably a shop that works on semi trucks, since they have the most experience with the ABS on large trailers. The time and stress added up, and we took over two hours to make a one hour trip.

Now that we're settled in here and can look out our windows on trees and the lake and listen to the birds, life is definitely better.

We continue to be delighted with our door handle and locks. It's easy to open the door and to lock and unlock it using the key, the keypad, and the remote. That's something we really appreciate after struggling with our door for the last year.
