We finally got around to calling the RV Steamer, Jack Cook, to clean our carpets, which were in serious need of his attention. We are just always too busy to deal with wet carpets, but decided that today was the day. And wouldn't you know it, we ended up missing a lunch outing with our friends. But the carpets look 100% better.
For our morning walk we headed into the park again, partly to get out of the wind. We've been enjoying watching the progress on the new flood wall/gates too. There's always something new to see.

We ran into some eager birders hot on the trail of the Black Vented Oriole. It's hard to imagine that one solitary wandering bird has caused such an ongoing excitement in the birding enthusiasts.
Here's an oriole we spotted (not the Black Vented, but still interesting to us 8-)
On our walk this afternoon we stopped to see Tim and Rosie. They invited us in and of course we talked Excels and admired their rig. It's a Limited, so it has some of the luxury features we'd like to see in our next rig, like solid wood cabinetry and pull-out faucets. It's longer than what we're looking for, but temptingly spacious. There are always trade-offs.
While the carpets were being cleaned, we also managed to get our laundry done, so we have clean clothes too.
For supper tonight I made some comfort food--a recipe for leftover turkey I found on a recipe card at Albertson's years ago. It's very easy, and we really like it. This time I used frozen green beans and some leftover broccoli mixed with cream of mushroom soup and cubed turkey, topped with stuffing and baked.
