We left the Franconia Notch today and traveled to Concord, Mass., where the "shot heard round the world" was fired, where the Revolutionary War started. We stayed at the Concord Elks Lodge, in the parking lot, where we had a 20 amp connection. When we went in to register, we decided to have a beer, and the bartender told us "the first one is on the house." One was enough, actually. We were the only ones camping, and the lodge didn't seem to be very busy, so it was pretty quiet, except that the highway went right by the parking lot.
We drove into town to go to the Visitors' Center, but when we got there, it had closed, so we just walked around the downtown area and looked at all the historic buildings and statues.
