We jumped on the Burlington Bike Path just around the corner from the Elks Lodge and headed downtown to the Church Street Marketplace, a pedestrian mall in downtown Burlington. It's supposed to be a good place to visit anytime, but it was especially fun today, since the Labor Day crowds were out and the Burlington Criterium underway.
The bike path runs along the waterfront, with marvelous views of Lake Champlain. Burlington is a college town, home of the University of Vermont, and reminded us immediately of Portland, probably because we saw a bike race there this summer.

The Criterium was in Day 4 of the Green Mountain Stage Race, and we watched parts of several races, including Men's Category 3, Men 50+, and pro and elite women, as we strolled around. In the City Hall Park we came upon this "Microhouse"--part of an art exhibit in the nearby Firehouse Gallery entitled Human=Environment.

We stopped at Boloco Inspired Burritos and shared a yummy "Summer Burrito" (black beans, mango salsa, melted cheese, cilantro, and brown rice with chicken) at a street side table.

While we were downtown we saw that Menopause the Musical is playing at the local performing arts center this week--just in time for my birthday, so we're going down in the morning to see about tickets.
We got the Internet dish set up; we've decided to stay here a couple more nights.
