Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

We left Escanaba this morning and headed to Munising, MI, at the western end of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This afternoon we took a 2 1/2 hour cruise from the Munising dock along the lakeshore to view the fabulous formations and colored layers of rock painted by mineral seepage.

Kayakers get the best view of the rocks.

Campsite at Bay Furnace Campground

We are staying at a National Forest campground called Bay Furnace on Lake Superior. Tonight we ate supper while looking out over the lake, and afterwards we took Sweetie for a walk along the beach and collected pretty stones. Since living in an RV is not conducive to rock collections, we plan to take photos and then return the rocks to their home.

We did some trip planning tonight. At least we know where we'll be and what we'll try to see for the next few days.
