Rain!

Well, today it rained and actually cooled down a bit. Not much, but a bit.

The hot water heater has decided to truly mystify us. The gas burner comes on only when water is being run--either hot or cold. It goes off as soon as the water is turned off. We've decided we may need to call in a professional. Ugh.

The weekend has brought more campers out. On our walk tonight, we actually saw a golf cart jam. We also saw the adult swan and cygnet, but with a second adult this time, so probably a mated pair and offspring. The fact that they're down to one cygnet testifies to the vicissitudes of life for young swans.

We played some pool again today. Ken absolutely creamed me the first game. Every time he hit the cue ball, one of his balls managed to fall in a pocket--definitely not the pocket he was aiming at. Talk about luck! The second game I barely squeaked out a win, sinking the eight ball when he had just one ball left on the table.

We played Upwords again. This time it was touch and go and came down to the final turn again. I played my last tile, caught Ken with one left (-5), and won by one point, 193-192. Finally, I've broken the jinx!
