About the only thing that distinguished today was that it was so hot that our a/c was unable to keep up, especially since everyone else was also desperately trying to stay cool. Our voltage meter showed the needle on the border with the lower red zone, and sometimes dipping into it. At least the a/c did keep the humidity down inside.
We got out early this morning to walk before things heated up too much. Tonight we waited until after sunset before venturing out.
I picked up a can of mackerel a while back, and tonight I decided to try it out. After checking for recipes on the web, I ended up using my salmon patties recipe. The result was pretty tasty, especially after we added some catsup. The folks on the web who said it tasted just like salmon patties must have been fooling themselves, though. It was good, but not the same.
We spent some time checking out things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We found plenty of hikes and drives. We'll have to take some more time to plan soon, since we have only a five-day reservation at Smokemont Campground, on the North Carolina side.
Tonight we played two games of pool again. This time we split. Ken creamed me the first game, and I squeaked out a win the second game.
