This morning we walked by the kildeer nest area again, and this time we were rewarded by a glimpse of a chick. We could only see the little critter when it moved, but we also heard it chirping. That wasn't easy, since both parents were putting on quite an act to draw our attention away.
We are still slugging along, working on painting our hitch. We did make some progress, but then we ran out of spray paint. We went over to Ed and Julie's so we could babysit while Julie went to the dentist to have her new fillings adjusted.
Julie bought some tilapia to make fish tacos for dinner, which everyone enjoyed. I set up the Wii and the kids played some balance games. Ed helped Cate with the Wii Fit Plus Snowball Fight. Cate shifted her weight to move her Mii either behind a screen or out to make a shot. Ed threw the snowballs. They made a good team. Sam continues to do well at soccer heading, except that he still has a tendency to move right into the path of oncoming shoes and pandas. He still has fun.
We took our laundry over to do at the house, but Julie said that the dryer wasn't working. We went ahead and ran three loads of wash, intending to take the clothes to a laudromat to dry. When Ed came home he worked on cleaning out the vent, but said there was really no lint to speak of. However, after he finished, we tried a load of our clothes just to check--and the dryer worked, at least as well as it has been working (which is rather slowly).
