Happy Easter!

On our morning walk, we saw lots of early birds--some of them actual birds, and the rest anglers and picnickers. One bird especially caught our attention, a scissor-tailed flycatcher.

When we arrived at Ed and Julie's, Ed was in bed. He'd taken medication for his pink eye and sinuses and was sleeping it off. When he got up later he seemed to feel much better. He grilled salmon and pineapple, his specialty, and it turned out great.

Aunt Iris called to wish us a happy Easter, but we were playing Ticket to Ride, so I didn't hear everything she said. I know Beth was there and Little Joe and someone else who all wished us happy Easter on the speakerphone. They had gone out for fried chicken for dinner, so neither group had a "traditional" Easter dinner.

Jesse looked like a little Easter peep, dressed in a cute soft yellow sleeper. The kids had Jelly Bellys in their Easter baskets--very high class!

Ken and I went for another walk through the green belt bike/walking trail, this time starting out at Lone Prairie. We passed lots of kids on bikes and people walking dogs and joggers. It's a great resource for the surrounding neighborhoods. There are a couple of ponds, a creek, and a playground. When we got back, Terri and the girls and Julie and Sam were just starting out for their walk, so I tagged along with them too.

Ed and Molly and Ken and I played Ticket to Ride. Ed beat all of us by quite a bit, but it is his game, so he gets more practice. Cate turned the cards over for us. Cate played a couple of games of Sorry too.

We finally got to watch the USA/Canada Olympic hockey finals that we had asked Ed and Julie to record for us. Of course we watched only the highlights. We're not really big hockey fans, but the overtime action was exciting, even though we knew the outcome in advance.
