We've been dealing with low water pressure on and off since we've been on the road. It seems that the inexpensive brass water pressure regulators don't actually deliver the pressure promised on the package. We've tried three different kinds of water filters to keep the sediment out of our plumbing, but they seems to fill up quickly and reduce flow a lot. We've also had trouble with hoses kinking, and that definitely can cut down your water flow.
So we did some online research and ended up ordering a Watts 263A regulator from the Water Filter Store online. It's adjustable and provides 4-4.5 gpm flow (gallons per minute). We also got some better quality hoses, a water filter canister, and a reusable 5 micron sediment filter (3-4 gpm) to go in it. We installed the new equipment inside a compartment, so we won't have to deal with them every time we break down and set up. We have the regulator set on 50 psi, which provides a very decent shower. Success at last!
It was warm enough today to go over to the pool, but we ended up spending our time in the hot tub and lying in the sun watching the water volleyball players. I hit a stray ball back to them and then spent the next couple of minutes rubbing my painful hand. I'm not sure if the pain near the base of my thumb is from repetitive motion stress (Droid use?) or from arthritis, but it would definitely mean the end of my volleyball career.
We met another couple in the park who also own an Excel that looked very familiar to us. It's a 2006 30RSO, very similar to ours. Unfortunately the similarity extends to their having a leak in the exact same place in their bedroom slide. We're going to write to Jack and ask how common this is.
After 2 1/2 weeks, we finally got a reply to our email message to Delta about the problem we had with the truck box not opening. It said that this problem was very rare, but not unheard of, and that they hoped we wouldn't have the problem again... Big help!
