Freezing in Mexico

It wasn't literally freezing today, but it was plenty cold and rainy, that's for sure. We shivered our way across the international bridge into Progreso, but we made it to join friends for drinks at Jessica's and dinner at the Red Snapper. No birthdays to celebrate this time, so our excuse to party (did we really need one?) was that Jean's daughter Connie is in town for a brief visit. The group this time was smaller--probably at least partly because of the inclement weather.

Dinner at the new Red Snapper location

After dinner we hurried to the truck, eager to get out of the chill and rain and head home. We stopped for a few groceries. At home, we turned on the fireplace and cocooned the rest of the day.

We had Sleepless in Seattle recorded and decided that a light movie was about all we felt up to, so we watched it. Every few minutes, we had to fast forward through nearly five minutes of commercials. We were both struck by how young Tom Hanks looked.

We got one of the facilities guys to help us get our refilled 40 lb. propane tank reinstalled in the rig. That worked quite well.
