What a treat we had tonight! We've been looking forward to seeing Freddie and Sheila Pelletier and Freddie's son Clint again. We saw them in January 2009 and fell in love with their music and the energy and genuine feeling of their performance. In January of 2010 we unfortunately missed their show because Ken was recovering from his back surgery. We bought one of their CDs, Old Fashioned Songs in 2009, and we play it regularly.
The show tonight was very different from the one we saw in 2009, but even better. They are head and shoulders above the other music groups we've seen. Clint and Freddie are guitar virtuosos. Tonight they performed a variety of musical styles, including some Les Paul and Mary Ford numbers, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, flamenco, country, bluegrass.... Sheila and Thea (Clint's girlfriend) provided the vocals, and both have strong and interesting voices. It's clear that this group of people really enjoy each other and their music, and that Freddie and Sheila and Clint and Thea take delight in their relationships. The audience loved them. We loved them. We bought two more CDs....

Mark came over today and replaced our broken step. It's as solid as a rock now and looks much better than when we first got the rig. Mark always does a conscientious job and turns out beautiful work.
Poor workmanship led to the failure of the step. No bracing at all supported the front of the step.
Good workmanship restored it better than new. You can see three of the new supports Mark put in.
It was strange today not to go to Darryl's Friday morning A-2 concept dance. We've decided to attend Joe's Wednesday night C-1 dance instead. I took advantage of the free morning to go to the Mission West Craft and Patio sale. It was a disappointment--mainly just a smaller version of Don Wes.
