This afternoon we danced at the Peppermint Palace to Jerry Story for the first time this year. He's always fun to dance to, but it takes me a while to adjust to a different caller's voice and choreography, especially at a new level. We just need more floor time at C-1.
Ken got some pics of the other Excel in the park. Their tow vehicle, fifth wheel, and Smart Car fill the very long site. It took two shots to show the whole thing clearly. We really like the Smart Car, which rides behind the cab of the heavy duty truck, in front of the fifth wheel hitch. We saw a similar setup on our way south last year. You get the best of both worlds: live in a great fifth wheel, but don't have to drive the big truck to the grocery store.
At the margarita hour tonight, we mentioned that Tom Clapham had emailed us in response to our post yesterday. Tim and Rosie said, "How do you know Tom?" It turns out they're the couple that Tom stayed with when he flew in for the Excel Family Reunion last summer. Very small world!
We watched yesterday's Jeopardy--an heard the big news: Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, top Jeopardy competitors, will take on Watson. Who is Watson? It's an IBM computer. Should be interesting. Stay tuned 8-)
Here's part of the announcement from msnbc:
Ken Jennings, left, and Brad Rutter, two of the most successful contestants on the game show "Jeopardy!," will play two games against "Watson," a computer program developed by IBM's artificial intelligence team. The matches will be spread over three days that will air Feb. 14-16.
