We danced again today at Tropical Valley Acres. A Christmas village was set up in one corner in honor of the season.
It reminded us of our friends, Ed and Marlyn Evans, who have an elaborate village setup that the grandkids help put up every Christmas.
We saw some friends for the first time this season, including Sue and Arnie and Clint and Helen. We didn't get to dance with either couple, but we'll have lots more opportunities.
Hardy and Judy went to South Padre on Saturday, partly to buy and fly a kite on the beach. Ken and Hardy compared notes on their kites, and we agreed to make a trip to South Padre soon as well as going to the annual kite fest in February.
We made our reservations for Lake Park for next April/May today. We also made appointments to get our teeth cleaned. With our current dental insurance, we get one cleaning per six calendar months. Since we had our cleanings on November 9, we'll be eligible again May 10--and we'll actually be in the Dallas area that week. We used to get two cleanings a year, and we could space them any way we wanted to. This is definitely less convenient.
I realized this morning that our dental and vision insurance was being drafted from one of our checking accounts. Unfortunately it's one we don't use much, and it didn't have enough in it to cover the draft. Ouch! That cost us a $20 fee to the Northrop Grumman credit union for a late payment, and another $24 fee to the USC credit union for the bounced ACH payment. An expensive lesson. We're changing the arrangements to draft from a different checking account.
