We went over to visit Chris and Anara this afternoon. Chris brought out a brand new board game he had just bought, called Key Harvest. It's one of a series of "Key" games. The game has some interesting strategy, but the rules are a bit confusing to begin with, so it took the four of us much longer than the suggested 90 minutes to play. Chris won, which I rather expected, partly because he had some familiarity with the game. Ken gave him a run for his money.
After dinner we went for a walk. This time we started out by looking for the TARDIS Library that Chris and Anara had spotted a few days ago. It's a "Little Free Library"--take a book, leave a book, informally set up and maintained by individuals or families. The TARDIS spinoffs are based on the British science fiction TV program called "Doctor Who." TARDIS stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. It's a time machine and larger on the inside than the outside--a description that aptly applies to books.
The one we visited is called the "32nd Ave Tardis Library." It even has its own Facebook page.
We walked to the Laurelhurst Park, a wonderful Portland city park, where we saw huge, impressive trees and lots of folks enjoying the park, some with dogs. It's a great neighborhood asset.
