Peaceful Day

On our morning walk we checked out the campground. All of it is situated around the lake, with three RV loops and two tent areas. We are partly trying to figure out which sites we might prefer on a future visit.

We saw scrub jays and cardinals and water birds along the way. We've been enjoying the flowering pink mimosa trees among the oak and pine forest.

This afternoon we sat out in our lawn chairs and read for a while. Ken barely got the lawn chairs out of their compartment, since the large pine tree trunk is very close to it.

We managed to accomplish some of our to-do items. We cleaning out the water filter canisters, washed the sediment filter, and replaced the biological filter, so now our water pressure has improved. Ken replaced a fuse and a light bulb. It turns out that the bulb probably isn't the problem, since it lights when it is held in to the socket, but not when you let go. We replaced the catch that holds one of our compartment doors open. We checked the propane levels and figured out that one of our bottles may have a problem since the gauge leaks when it is attached to that bottle but not the other. We replaced the batteries in the CO detector. Even a 32-foot home requires some maintenance!

We spent some more time sorting out Medicare and Blue Cross paperwork (more yet to do). I reviewed some of the photos I brought home from Chris's to see if they had already been digitized (more yet to do....).

I fixed a black bean and yellow squash stew recipe that I got from Carol, only this time I substituted sweet potato for white, since that's what I had. As usual, we enjoyed it, especially with the brown bread.

We watched part of an episode of This Emotional Life that we recorded some time ago. It is thought provoking, and we spent some time discussing it.
