The Juniper Ridge Nature Trail is short, only .7 mile, but it leads to some spectacular views. It's challenging terrain, steep and rocky, so we were glad we had our hiking sticks.
Resting at the halfway point
Rugged sandstone badlands
Steep scree field
We also saw wildflowers along the way. These Texas bluebonnets were growing outside the park headquarters. I thought we might have completely missed bluebonnet season while we were away traveling, so I was glad to see these.
